PATRIOT POINTS
* The Patriots have 10 A-10 wins for the first time in the program's six seasons in the league. Mason still has three regular season contests remaining.
* Last time out, Mason snapped a two-game skid with a 77-63 home victory over Richmond Wednesday. Mason shot 55.6 percent from 3-point range (10-18) and limited the Spiders to 38.9 percent overall and 27.8 percent from beyond the arc.
* Against the Spiders, Mason hit 10 3-pointers in a game for the first time since the Jan. 3 victory over Saint Joseph's.
* Freshman guard
Jamal Hartwell II led Mason with career highs in points (15), 3-point FG made (5) and minutes (31). He's the first Patriot to hit five 3s in a game since November 13.
* Fellow freshman
Jordan Miller added his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Miller is averaging 7.5 offensive rebounds/game over the past two games.
*A total of 56 of Mason's 77 points vs. Richmond came from freshmen and sophomores. Six of Mason's 10 rotational players are underclassmen.
* Junior
Justin Kier is just 46 points away from 1,000 for his career.
* Mason currently sits in a tie for fourth place in the A-10 standings with St. Bonaventure. The Patriots are a game out of second and a game out of sixth.
*
Jordan Miller is second in the A-10 in field goal percentage in league games (.649) and fifth in offensive rebounds/game (3.2).
* Senior
Otis Livingston II is the fourth player in Mason history to eclipse the 1800-point plateau. He is the only Patriot to post 100+ assists in all four seasons of a career. The Linden, N.J., product also leads the nation in consecutive starts made (127). The next closest player is Penn State's Lamar Stevens (98). He is Mason's all-time leader in career starts.
INJURIES MAKE THE PATRIOTS YOUNG AGAIN
Mason has been bitten by the injury bug throughout the 2018-19 season. Although Mason was the only team in the nation to return 100 percent of its scoring from 2017-18, Mason is still just 203rd nationally in experience (1.61 years/player), and some of that can be attributed to the injury report. The Patriots received welcome news Wednesday vs. Richmond, when
Ian Boyd and
Greg Calixte returned to the lineup. In addition to losing s have missed significant time due to injury, while
Javon Greene (finger) and
Otis Livingston II (ankle) also have fended off lingering ailments.
HISTORY vs. SAINT LOUIS
Saturday's game marks the 11th all-time meeting between George Mason and Saint Louis in men's basketball. The Billikens hold a 6-4 advantage in the all-time series, although the teams have split four meetings all-time in St. Louis. SLU has won four of the past five contests. Last season, Mason grabbed an 86-81 win in Fairfax on Jan. 13 in the only meeting between the teams.
Otis Livingston II led Mason with 26 points (9-16 FG) and dished out seven assists, while then-freshman
Greg Calixte chipped in 11 points. Livingston II is averaging 17.2 points and 4.3 assists in six all-time games against the Billikens.
