FARMVILLE, Va. – George Mason's top scorer from a year ago notched her first goals of the season and her rookie teammate continued her hot start to lead the Patriots to their first victory of the season.

Chachi Kelehan scored four goals and dished out three assists and freshman
Deanna Balsama collected her first career hat trick in a 16-9 victory over Longwood on Saturday at Burger Jackson Field. Sophomore
Erin Donoghue also won 11 draw controls for the second time in her career in addition to a goal and an assist.
Kelehan, who scored a career-high 52 goals last season, netted her first four goals of the year for the Patriots (1-2). Balsama recorded multiple goals for the third straight game with a career-high three goals along with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
After Longwood (1-2) jumped out to a 2-1 lead, the Patriots rattled off seven straight goals and never looked back. Sophomore
Abby Folker started the run and Kelehan scored three times during the stretch, including an unassisted goal with 11:07 left in the first half for an 8-2 lead. Sophomore
Natalya Moody's goal as the first half ended gave the Patriots a 12-5 advantage heading into the break. The lead never dipped lower than five after that.

Brown also had two assists and Johnson and Donoghue dished out assists. Moody led the way with four caused turnovers and Johnson, Balsama and Rynn each had two. Goalkeeper
Melissa Semkiw set a career-high with six ground balls while Brown and Balsama each won four ground balls. Semkiw played the entire game, making nine saves while allowing nine goals.
The Patriots return to action against American at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.
