The Patriots move to 6-2 (2-1 MAC) this season after splitting two MAC duals today.
Mason edged Edinboro, 21-19 in a Noon match today, then dropped a 22-14 match at Cleveland State later this evening.
Edinboro won the first match at 125 pounds to take a 3-0 lead, but Mason would win the next four matches and take a commanding 18-3 lead halfway through the match. The Fighting Scots fought back with decisions in four of the final five matches.
In a pivotal match at 174, graduate student Tony Lombardo edged Jacob Oliver, the second-ranked wrestler in the MAC in that weight class, 7-5. The Patriots lead was its largest of the match, 21-6, but not insurmountable. The Fighting Scots earned two straight technical falls to cut the Mason lead to 21-16 going into the heavyweight match. Edinboro's Jon Spaulding, ranked third in the MAC at heavyweight, defeated Mason's
Jake Slinger, 12-8, but with only three points earned, the Patriots won the match.
In a match that had four lead changes and one tie, Cleveland State defeated Mason 22-14.
After the Vikings earned the first points of the match, freshman
Josh Jones (133) defeated Justin Patrick, 7-5 SV, to cut into the lead, 4-3. At 149,
Colston DiBlasi earned a technical fall, 15-0 (7:00) against Gus Sutton giving the Patriots its first lead, 8-7. The Vikings took the lead briefly, 10-8, after Nico O'Dor handed Mason's
Kolby Ho his first setback in eight dual matches this season with a 5-2 decision. Mason's Tony Lombardo would give the Patriots its last lead, 14-10, after an 8-1 decision over Chase Archangelo. The Vikings won the last three matches for the win.

- Edinboro, ranked ninth in the Coaches MAC rankings just ahead of Mason (10th).
- Freshman Josh Jones won both matches today. He has won seven of the last eight matches, two by fall and three by major decision.
- R-Sr. Alex Madrigal split the two matches today. He won nine straight matches before dropping a 4-2 decision to CSU's Evan Cheek, to improve to 14-6, 5-2 in duals.
- After losing his first two dual matches of the season, R-Jr. Colston DiBlasi has won five straight duals and nine of his last 10 matches.
- Sophomore Kolby Ho split the two matches today. It was Ho's first setback in dual matches and is 15-6 overall, 7-1 in duals.
- Neil Schuster lost a close decision, 7-6, to Edinboro's Derek Ciavarro, breaking his four-match win-streak. He bounced back in the match at CSU with a 6-2 decision against Riley Smucker.
