Fairfax, Va.— The George Mason wrestling team will begin competition in the Mid-American Conference when the Patriots travel to Clarion on Sunday for a Noon match against the Eagles. The match is the first of eight scheduled conference matches.

MAC ACCOLADES
Redshirt senior Alex Madrigal (141) is ranked sixth and will compete against Clarion's Taylor Ortz, the No. 5 ranked wrestler in the MAC. The match-up at 149 pounds will feature two top-3 conference wrestlers. Mason's Colston DiBlasi, ranked third, will battle the Eagles' Brock Zacherl, ranked second in the conference.
 
HOMECOMING
The Patriots Kolby Ho returns to his hometown of Dubois, Pa., where he wrestled and played football at DuBois Area High School. He was a three-time state qualifier and placed second at Pennsylvania State Championships. On the football field, he was named to the all-district team.
 
NEW CONFERENCE
The George Mason wrestling program will begin competing in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), the second-largest NCAA D1 conference in the nation. Mason, along with Bloomsburg, Clarion, Cleveland State, Edinboro, Lock haven and Rider have all joined the MAC from the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL).
