MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
EARLYSVILLE, Va. – The George Mason men's cross country team earned its highest team finish since 2016 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships Friday morning at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va. The men placed 16th out of 35 teams (462 points) in the 10k race.
The Mason men were led by Atlantic 10 All-Conference honorees
Hunter Jutras and
Jack Ikenberry for the fourth time this season. This time redshirt junior Jutras crossed the line first out of the pair in 54th place (31:20.4). Sophomore Ikenberry tabbed 62nd with a time of 31:32.0.
Junior
Grant Anderson finished next for the Patriots (104th, 32:16.2), followed closely behind by sophomore
Jake Lonsdale (112th, 32:28.0). Redshirt junior
Will Smagh placed 145th (33:08.6) and freshman
James Seal took 167th (33:33.4) to round out the Patriots.
The Mason women finished 25th out of a 34-team field with 668 points in the 6k race. Leading the Patriots was junior
Carina Garcia in 50th place with a time of 21:23.2. Senior
Sarah Richart finished next in 150th (22:51.5), followed by fellow senior
Maggie Morgan in 161st (22:59.5).
Junior
Allison Rice crossed the finish line in 169th (23:04.3) while junior
Kaitlyn Johnson and Vilde Vage Henriksen placed 178th and 185th, respectively.
The Patriots close out the cross country season with the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Nov. 23 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y.
