FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team (2-8-1, 0-4-0 A-10) continues their road stretch in the middle of conference play in Pittsburgh to challenge Duquesne on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

The last time these two programs met was Oct. 12, 2018 when the Patriots shutout the Dukes by a score of 3-0 at George Mason Stadium. Duquesne leads the all-time series against Mason by a record of 4-1-0. The Patriots will look to double their win total against the Dukes on Sunday, along with earning their first Atlantic 10 victory.

Mason has not gotten off to the start that they had hoped, dropping their first four conference games, including an overtime loss on Thursday to Fordham.

Fordham earned a 11-4 edge over Mason in shots and a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. In the first half, both teams accumulated only three total shots. In the second half, both teams found their groove in the offensive zone, amassing a total of 11 shots.

Mason junior Shannon Lee earned her first goal of the season for the Patriots in the 71st minute, after getting a great cross from her twin sister Emma Lee, who earned her first assist and point of the season. The Lee twins' offensive pressure was not enough, however, as the Rams answered with the game winning goal within the first four minutes of the overtime period.

In Duquesne's last outing, the Dukes defeated Richmond for their second conference victory of the season. The team is led by junior Deena DeBaldo, who is currently second in the A-10 in goals scored (7) and points (17).

Mason will look to hand the Dukes their first home loss of the season as Duquesne has outscored their opponents 15-5 at home.
