Mason Hosts Revolutionary Rivalry in Final Home Match

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team (3-10-2, 1-6-1 A-10) hosts their final home match of the season on Thursday against George Washington (12-1-3, 7-0-1 A-10). The first whistle is schedule for 7 p.m.

Coming into their final home match of the season, the Patriots are looking to put another one in the win column in the Revolutionary Rivalry, as they lead the all-time series against the Colonials by a record of 22-2-3.

Last time out, Mason tied with Atlantic 10 front-runner Saint Louis by a score of 0-0 in 70 minutes after the game ended early due to rain. Senior goalkeeper, Morgan Symmers, came up with three big saves for the Patriots to keep the Billikens at bay. The stalemate snapped the Billikens' 20-game winning streak in the Atlantic 10.

On the other side, the Colonials have not lost a conference match yet this season. They have also not lost a contest since their first match of 2019, against William & Mary on Aug. 22.

George Washington has outscored their opponents 34-17, outshot their opposition 292-153 and earned 76 corner kick chances to their opponent's 51.

The Colonials are led by redshirt sophomore Rachel Sorkenn, who is tied for second in the A-10 in goals (8), third in the A-10 in assists (5) and tied for second in the A-10 in total points (21).
