Powell's Point, N.C.--The Patriots' men's golf team completed two rounds today in the 10
th annual ODU/OBX Intercollegiate at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powell's Point, N.C.
Originally scheduled for three straight days, the event was postponed Sunday because of rain. The 15-team field played 36 holes today. The Patriots will wrap up its fall schedule in the final round tomorrow.
Sophomore J.P. Miller leads the Patriots with a three-under par 139 (67-72) and is t-9 overall going into tomorrow's final round at the par-71, 6,550-yard golf course. Miller carded three-straight birdies on holes 14-16 before dropping a stroke with a bogey on the 18
th hole. He had nine birdies on the day.
Senior
Takahiro Nojima began the day with a two-under par 69, but a 75 in the afternoon round dropped him to t-31 in the 15-team field.
Freshman
Hayden Miller carded a 75 in the first round before shaving off a few strokes in the afternoon round with a 73.
Davis Soderberg rounded out the scoring for the Patriots (76-76=152).
North Dakota State leads the tournament through 36 holes at 14-under-par, followed by host ODU (-13). Mason is eleventh.
Andrew Israelson (-9) and Van Holmgren (-8) from North Dakota State are leading the tournament.
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.
