Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason women's soccer team (3-10-1, 1-6-0 A-10) falls to La Salle (8-6-1, 4-3-0 A-10) by a score of 2-0 on Thursday at George Mason Stadium.

Although the Patriots could not score a goal on the night, the team did earn offensive chances, totaling eight shots (five on goal), with four of the shots coming from junior midfielder Sara Chontosh.

Chontosh earned season highs in shots (4) and shots on goal (3). The midfielder also earned game-highs in both categories on Thursday night. This performance comes on the heels of three shots and two shots on goal game against Davidson on Sunday, a then-season high for the junior.

Despite the offensive pressure, the Patriots could not find the back of the net as the Explorers took advantage of their six shots on goal, converting a goal in each period.

The first came in the 25th minute as Jenna Soriano played a ball to Katie Hoffman who took the pass down the left side of the field and pushed it past Mason's keeper for La Salle's first score of the night. The goal was Hoffman's first of the year.

The second and final goal came in the 76th minute when a flurry of La Salle players crashed Mason's net and put in a rolling rebound into the back of the net. Maci Bower was awarded the goal (sixth of the year).
