FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team returns to action after a week off, facing St. Bonaventure on Saturday with the opening kick scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex in Olean, N.Y.
 
Last time out, Mason redshirt senior defender Gilian Buijk netted his first NCAA goal with a header in double overtime to lift the Patriots to a 1-0 home victory over Davidson on Saturday.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Brison Moorhead made all four of his saves in the second half to notch his first shutout in a Mason uniform.
 
Senior forward Tunde Akinlosotu leads the team in assists (5) and points (11).  He is second on the club in goals (3).  Akinlosotu has scored all three of his goals at George Mason Stadium.
 
Senior midfielder Ryan Mingachos leads the team in goals (4), and is second on the squad in points (10).   
 
Moorhead (3-3-1, 3-1-0 A-10) has started seven games and has a 1.44 goals against average.  He has made 35 saves and allowed 11 goals on the season.
 
The Patriots and Bonnies have met just twice, with both games played in Olean, N.Y.  Mason posted a 2-1 win on Nov. 10, 2013 and St. Bonaventure notched a 1-0 victory on Oct. 21, 2017.    
 
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
 
The Bonnies have an overall record of 3-9-0, including a mark of 0-5-0 against Atlantic 10 opponents.  St. Bonaventure is 1-3-0 at home and 2-6-0 on the road this season.
 
Last time out, the Bonnies snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Army on Tuesday night at West Point, N.Y.
 
Freshman forward Peter Massaquoi netted his first career goal, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 58th minute.  Sophomore defender Julius Stefansson and sophomore midfielder Isaac Boamah also found the back of the net against the Black Knights.
 
Junior goalkeeper Trevor Wilson made six saves in the match to record his second win of the season.
 
St. Bonaventure has been shutout in its first two home games against conference opponents.  VCU blanked the Bonnies, 2-0, on Sept. 21 and George Washington posted a 1-0 win on Oct. 9.
 
Junior midfielder Fredrik Hansen and Boamah are tied for the team lead in goals (2) and points (4).  Nine different players have scored at least one goal for the Bonnies.
 
Wilson (2-4-0) has played in eight games with five starts with a 2.53 goals against average.  He has made 37 saves and allowed 19 goals on the season.

Saturday's match will be just the third meeting between the Patriots and Bonnies in program history, with all three matches played in Olean, N.Y.
 
GLIMPSE AT THE PATRIOTS
 
The Patriots return 20 letterwinners and five of their top-six scorers from last year's team that advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship game in 2018.
 
Seniors Tunde Akinlosotu and Grant Robinson tied for the team lead in goals (5) during the 2018 season, while Akinlosotu's 15 points led the club.  Senior Ryan Mingachos tied for second on the team in goals (4), assists (4) and points (12).
 
The Patriots finished the 2018 campaign with a 9-8-0 overall record and posted a 5-3-0 mark against A-10 opponents, tying for third place in the conference during the regular season.  Mason was 6-3-0 at home, 2-4-0 on the road and 1-1 in games played at a neutral site.
 
In the A-10 quarterfinals, the Patriots defeated Saint Louis in double-overtime, 1-0.  In the semifinals at the Billiken Sports Center, Mason defeated Dayton, 1-0, in double-overtime to advance to the championship game for the first time since the 2013 season.
