FARMVILLE, Va. – The George Mason men's soccer team played its final non-conference game of the season, falling to Longwood, 1-0, on Tuesday evening at the Longwood Athletics Complex in Farmville, Va.
After a scoreless first half, Mason (2-7-1, 1-0-0 A-10) fell behind Longwood (4-4-0, 0-1-0 Big South) early in the second half.
Lancers junior midfielder Ander Etxaniz scored off a cross in the 59th minute to make it a 1-0 game. Lancers sophomore defender Paul Caspar lofted a cross into the box to pick up the assist on the play.
Longwood senior forward Mikel Abando added a late goal in the 90th minute to make the score 2-0.

Brison Moorhead (1-2-1, 1-0-0 A-10) started his fourth straight match and made four saves, while Longwood junior goalkeeper Jacob Reimers made six saves in the match.

59' | Etxaniz scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season, finishing a cross into the lower right corner.
90' | Abando scored on a breakaway into the top left corner in the final minute of play.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The Patriots outshot the Lancers 16-15 in the match, while each team registered six shots on goal. Longwood had four corner kicks and Mason had three corner kicks in the game.
