FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason freshman Peyton Ehmke has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

In Mason's A-10 opener against Dayton (Sept. 21), the freshman middle blocker collected five kills and eight blocks.

Ehmke posted career-highs in kills (17) and points (23) in Mason's 3-2 win over Saint Louis (Sept. 22). The middle blocker was unstoppable at the net for the Patriots, registering a career-high nine blocks with three solo blocks.

Over the course of the two matches, Ehmke had 2.44 kills per set and 1.88 blocks per set. She now sits ninth for blocks per set (0.95) in the Atlantic 10.

Mason will continue its six-game homestand on Friday, hosting George Washington at 7 p.m. at the RAC.
