FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's and women's basketball programs will tipoff the 2018-19 season at Mason Madness presented by the Virginia Lottery on Friday, October 12 inside EagleBank Arena.
 
Mason Madness will be streamed live on GoMason.com as well as Facebook Live. The annual tipoff to the basketball season will begin at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and will  feature  performances from the No. 1 pep band in the land – Doc Nix and the Green Machine!
 
In addition, Mason fans will be treated to a performance by Steve Max, master of Simon Sez, known nationally for his appearances on TV and at NBA & NCAA basketball halftimes, The Amazing Christopher and Game Guy from the Virginia Lottery.
 
#MasonNation will get a chance to meet the 2018-19 men's and women's basketball teams, enjoy performances from the Masonettes, Mason Cheerleaders,  Mason's first hip-hop dance crew - Urbanknowlogy 101 and take part in a series of contests and giveaways.
