"Definitely disappointed about how we came to play this morning but I am very proud of how we responded this afternoon against Norfolk State," said Coach Ilkson. "I think there was a lot of positives that we will take away from this weekend however we need to get back to work quickly with some very challenging matches ahead of us.
Catie Espinoza was tremendous for us all weekend. Her consistent play is so critical to our backrow and her leadership on the floor for this young team has been exceptional."

- After falling behind 2-0 in the match, the Patriots jumped out to an early 7-1 lead in the third set. Mason never looked back in the set – winning 25-15. The Patriots had their highest hitting percentage of .318 during the third set of play.
- Junior Bailey Williams delivered as outside hitter, registering 11 kills and 11 digs to assist in the Patriot attack.
- Libero Catie Espinoza collected 16 digs against the Hoyas. Espinoza only needed six digs to crack into the top five all-time career digs list. Now, Espinoza sits tied for third with 1,124.

- The Patriots never trailed in all three sets during its final match of the Georgetown Classic – winning 25-10, 25-20, 25-12.
- Kelly Fagan started her first game of the season against the Spartans and contributed seven kills for a hitting percentage of .538. Fagan was not the only Patriot hitting over .500 as ShaLi Niu also tallied seven kills for a hitting percentage of .583.
- Mason notched five blocks while Norfolk State failed to register one.
- Freshman Siron Hardy again made an impact for the Patriots, leading the team with 11 kills.
