Thompson to Compete for Toronto Raptors in NBA Summer League

FAIRFAX, Va. – Former George Mason University All-Atlantic 10 forward Shevon Thompson will compete for the Toronto Raptors in the 2018 NBA Summer League, beginning Friday in Las Vegas.
 
The Raptors will open play on July 6 at 3:30 p.m. vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Shevon and Toronto also will battle Minnesota on Sunday (3 p.m., NBATV) and Oklahoma City on July 9 (3:30 p.m., NBATV).
 
Thompson competed with the Raptors' G League franchise (Raptors 905) in Mississauga, Ontario, this past season. He played in 41 games while averaging 10.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and shooting 61.6 percent from the floor. During his 2016-17 rookie campaign, Thompson averaged 12.1 points and 7.5 rebounds as a member of the Erie Bayhawks.
 
The Clarendon, Jamaica, native played two seasons for the Patriots from 2014-16, earning All-Atlantic 10 Third Team honors as a junior in 2014-15. During that season, he led George Mason in both scoring (12.5 ppg) and rebounding (11.3 rpg).
 
As a senior in 2015-16, Thompson led the Atlantic 10 in rebounding (10.6 rpg), tallied 13 double-doubles, and started 29 of 31 contests.
