FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason Softball team (19-24, 9-8 A-10) will play its last non-conference games of the regular season with a doubleheader at Mount St. Mary's up in Emmitsburg, Md. It will also serve as the last midweek game of the doubleheader. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 3 p.m., with the game two set for approximately 30 minutes after its predecessor's conclusion.
This is the first time since 2016 the Patriots and Mountaineers will go head-to-head in a regular season contest. The teams split the doubleheader in the 2016 matchup with George Mason taking game two 8-0. The Patriots posted 16 hits in the victory, highlighted by a 4-for-4 day at the plate by
Liz Seymour with three RBI and three runs scored.
The Patriots swept La Salle over the weekend to start a three-game winning streak, and have won seven of their last eight games. The recent success sees the program in fourth place in the A-10 standings, one game ahead of George Washington and three games back of third place Dayton. A large part of the success was the team's strong pitching in the circle, led by Sophomore
Bekah Ansbro. The Woodstock, Va. native made two starts over the weekend and threw 12.1 innings while registering 15 strikeouts. She only gave up three earned runs to have an ERA of 1.70 in that stretch.
There was no shortage of extra-base hits in the Patriots' three wins against La Salle. The team totaled 11 of them with five being home runs and six going for doubles. RS-freshman

Jess Middleton posted a 5-for-8 weekend at the plate with three doubles and two RBI. In her last 15 games, Middleton has hit .436 with an OPS of 1.300, and has compiled two home runs in 13 RBI in that stretch.

Alyssa Lawton (3-for-10) and junior
Jess Curbeira (3-for-9) each posted a batting average of at least .300 during the weekend at La Salle. Lawton has started the last 13 games in left field while Curbeira knocked in two RBI and hit a home run.
