HOWIE IN THE HILLS, Fla. – George Mason finished sixth in the 2018 Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howie In The Hills, Fla. Senior
Brock Kovach led the Patriots by shooting a 70 (2-under par) in round three. The Sunday performance leap frogged him into a tie for 19
th place to lead Mason on the individual leaderboard.
Mason placed sixth by shooting 45-over 909 (312-299-298) to edge Bethune-Cookman and Lehigh, who shot 14-over 912 and 18-over 914 respectively. TCU won the tournament by a substantial margin at 2-over 866 (304-281-281), with Toledo coming in second at 22-over 886 and Indiana just behind them at 24-over 888.
Thanks to his strong Sunday afternoon, Kovach jumped into a tie for 19
th and posted an overall weekend score of 10-over 226 (83-73-70). Senior
Ellis Messian was next Patriot on the leaderboard at 12-over 228 (75-76-77) for a share of 26
th place.

Jeff Wilson bounced back in rounds two and three by shooting 7-over par between the final two rounds of the invitational. Overall, Wilson checked in at 17-over 233 (82-75-76) for a share of 43
rd place.

Davis Soderberg finished one stroke ahead of senior

th finish reading 18-over 234 (78-81-75) and Edwards shooting 19-over 235 (77-75-83) to check in at a tie for 49
th place.
The Patriots are right back to work a week from Sunday when they head to Wilmington, N.C. for the Seahawk Intercollegiate tournament at the Country Club of Landfall. The tournament will mark one month before the Atlantic 10 championships in Orlando.
