FAIRFAX, Va. – A breakthrough season has a chance to become even more historic on Sunday for the George Mason women's basketball team.

The Patriots host St. Bonaventure at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the annual Pink Game at EagleBank Arena in the Game of the Week. Mason will wear pink uniforms during the game and honor local breast cancer survivors before and during the game. All Mason students with a valid Mason student ID will receive a pink Mason T-shirt (while supplies last).

Mason (20-7, 9-4 Atlantic 10) needs just one win to tie the school record for wins. On four occasions Patriot teams have collected 21 wins in a season, with the last time coming in 2000-01. The Patriots have three regular-season games remaining and will host the first-round of the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at EagleBank Arena.

The Patriots are coming off a 65-42 victory at VCU on Thursday that notched the 20-win season. They also locked up their first conference winning season since joining the A-10 and first since 2003-04 when still in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Freshman guard Nicole Cardano-Hillary scored 19 points and graduate student Natalie Butler scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her 26th straight double-double, which leads the nation and is the fourth-longest streak in Division I women's basketball history. Sophomore Sarah Kaminski also scored 12 points and senior Tayler Dodson chipped in 10 points and six rebounds while shooting 8 of 10 from the free-throw line. The Patriots also held VCU to 25 percent shooting and just 42 points, which is their second-fewest ever allowed against an A-10 team since joining the league in 2013-14.

St. Bonaventure (7-19, 2-11) has lost seven straight and is coming off a 79-57 home loss to Richmond on Wednesday. The Bonnies are led by senior guard Mariah Ruff, who ranks eighth in the conference with 16.3 points per game. Junior guard Mckenna Maycock averages 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds.

Mason and St. Bonaventure met less than three weeks ago with the Patriots picking up a 76-63 road victory on Jan. 31 in Olean, N.Y. Butler had 22 points and 16 rebounds as four players scored in double figures. The Patriots lead the all-time series 3-2 and have won the last two meetings. All five matchups have occurred in the last five years since Mason joined the A-10.
