SCOUTING COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON
The Hawks (3-8) snapped a four-game winning streak with a 86-73 victory at Mount St. Mary's on Dec. 20. Four Hawks scored in double figures, led by a career-high 28 points from senior Keyera Eaton. Senior Ciani Byrom leads UMES with 14.2 points a game, followed by 12.2 points a game from Eaton. The Hawks are in the second half of an eight-game road trip that will feature games in five states.
SERIES HISTORY
Each team has won a game in the all-time series. CofC defeated the Patriots 66-64 on Dec. 2, 2013 in Charleston, S.C. Mason returned the favor the next season with a 71-61 victory in Fairfax on Nov. 23, 2014. Redshirt senior forward Casey Davis is the only current Mason player who played in that 2014 meeting.
LAST TIME OUT
For the third time this season, five Mason players scored in double figures as the Patriots rolled to a 70-49 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. Sophomore Nicole Cardaño-Hillary led the way with 15 points and four steals. Juniors Marika Korpinen and Camarie Gatling each scored 11 points and junior Jacy Bolton added 10 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Sarah Kaminski also came off the bench to add 10 points and a career-high five assists.
ATLANTIC 10 LEADERS
Several Patriots are among the league's best in numerous statistical categories. Sophomore Nicole Cardaño-Hillary leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring with 19.7 points per game. Sophomore forward Camarie Gatling also ranks first in the conference in shooting percentage (.581). Junior Jacy Bolton, who has three double-doubles this season, ranks third in the A-10 with 7.4 rebounds a game. Sophomore Marika Korpinen is fourth in 3-point shooting percentage (.409).
