George Mason University men's basketball senior guard Otis Livingston II
has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Livingston II averaged 20.0 points, 8.5 assists and shot 50 percent from the floor in wins over Morgan State and William & Mary this past week. He dished out 17 assists and just three turnovers (5.7 A/TO ratio) in the two games. Livingston II also made all eight of his attempts from the free throw line.
The Linden, N.J., product shares the honor this week with Davidson's Kellan Grady. It marks the second time in his career that Livingston II has claimed the weekly honor.
On Wednesday vs. Morgan State, Livingston II poured in a game-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting and added seven assists in 33 minutes of action. He went 2-for-4 from the 3-point line and made all six of his free throw attempts. Livingston II also made a key 3-point play late in the game to help secure the victory.
On Saturday at William & Mary, Livingston II posted his second double-double of the year - an 18-point, 10-assist showing during the team's 87-84 road victory. He made two of Mason's final four baskets and assisted on a third to make a number of key plays down the stretch.
During the week, Livingston II also moved up a number of spots on the Mason all-time scoring and assists ledgers. He's now 10th in career points (1515) and second in assists (413).
Livingston II and the Patriots return to EagleBank Arena for a contest vs. mid-major power Vermont on Monday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
