Full Grayer Nomination | Senior CLASS Award Announcement

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University senior guard Jaire Grayer has been named one of 30 Div. I men's basketball candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.

Grayer, a 2018 NABC Give Back Team selection, is a candidate because of his community work in his hometown of Flint, Michigan, and in Fairfax, his internship work through his sport management major and his future goals to work in coaching and mentor children through basketball.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

A total of 30 men's basketball and 30 women's basketball candidates have been selected. The men's and women's candidates will be narrowed to two fields of 10 finalists in February, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character and competition.

The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2019 NCAA Men's Final Four® and NCAA Women's Final Four® this spring.
