SCOUTING HOWARD
The Bison (3-2) are coming off a 77-58 victory at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday in New Jersey. Three players scored in double figures, led by 16 points from sophomore guard Jayla Thornton. Junior Sarah Edmond leads the Bison with 19.6 points a game and 4.2 assists per contest. Thornton is averaging 15.6 points and freshman forward Krislyn Marsh is nearly averaging a double-double with 10.2 rebounds and 9.4 points a game.
SERIES HISTORY
The Patriots hold a 14-8 advantage in the all-time series. Mason has won 12 straight, with the Patriots last falling to Howard in 1990. This will be the teams' first meeting since Dec. 12, 2009.
LAST TIME OUT
Mason outlasted UMKC for a 91-84 victory on Friday in Kansas City, Mo. The Patriots notched their most points since scoring 92 against Rhode Island last season. Mason dished out a season-high 21 assists and fended off two rallies by the Kangaroos, pulling away in the fourth quarter.
