MIDWESTERN SWING
The Patriots head to the Midwest to play a pair of games over Thanksgiving break. Mason will play Big 12 foe Kansas at 8 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday in historic Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan. Then, on Black Friday, the Patriots will cross state lines and head to the Show-Me State to play UMKC at 3 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo. This will be Mason's first time playing both teams.

SCOUTING KANSAS
The Jayhawks are off to a 3-0 start, with home victories over UMKC, Oral Roberts and Alabama A&M. KU returns all five starters and 11 letterwinners from a year ago. Seniors Austin Richardson and Christalah Lyons are each averaging a team-high 11.7 points. Richardson also leads the team with 9.0 rebounds a game.

SCOUTING UMKC
The Roos (0-3) are still looking for their first win. Friday's matchup will be their first at home as they've suffered road losses to Kansas, Denver and Kansas State and will play at Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla., on Tuesday night. UMKC boasts three players who average 10 points or more. Junior guard Ericka Mattingly leads the way with 16 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists a game. Freshman forward Leilah Vigil is averaging 11 points and 11.7 rebounds and sophomore guard Taylor Larson is chipping in 10 points a game.

HOMECOMING OF SORTS
Junior captain Jacy Bolton will be playing close to home. The 6-footer hails from Drexel, Mo., which straddles the state line and is a two-minute walk to Kansas. Her family and friends will only need to travel an hour or so to both Lawrence and Kansas City to see her play this week. Bolton, who is averaging 9.0 points and 8.5 rebounds this season, graduated from Drexel High in 2016 and was named the 2016 Class 1 Missouri Girls Player of the Year. She left as the program's all-time leading scorer (2,150 points) and leading rebounder (1,174) in addition to setting program records for career steals (452) and free throws made (506).

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots bounced back with a 64-61 victory over Colgate at home on Sunday at EagleBank Arena. Sophomore Nicole Cardano-Hillary scored 24 points, notching her fourth game of 20 points or more this season. She also tied a career high with seven rebounds and made 10 of 13 free throws. Junior Jacy Bolton added 10 points and 11 rebounds for her second straight double-double and sophomore Camarie Gatling came off the bench to score 12 points. Senior Jewel Triggs made two free throws with 17 seconds left after hauling in one of her career-high nine rebounds. Mason then made three strops down the stretch, including sophomore Marika Korpinen preventing a Colgate guard from firing off a shot with two seconds left.
