SCOUTING COLGATE
The Raiders are off to a 0-2 start, falling at Yale (80-61) and at defending Atlantic 10 regular-season champ Dayton (67-58). Colgate's home opener against Cornell on Thursday was postponed due to inclement weather. The Raiders are led by junior Tegan Graham (12.5 ppg). Junior forward Rachel Thompson is nearly averaging a double-double with 8.5 points and 9.5 rebounds a game. This is the first meeting on the hardwood for Colgate and Mason.

WNIT SQUAD TO BE RECOGNIZED
The 2017-18 George Mason women's basketball team that reached the WNIT for the third time in program history will be recognized prior to tipoff. Past members and current members of that team will be honored and the 2018 WNIT banner will hang in the rafters. The Patriots won a school-record 24 games and reached the WNIT for the first time in 14 years. They defeated Stephen F. Austin in the first round for the first postseason win in program history before falling at eventual WNIT champion runner-up Virginia Tech in the second round.

LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots dropped a 86-71 decision at American on Wednesday for their first loss of the season. Five Mason players scored in double figures, paced by 20 points from Nicole Cardaño-Hillary. Junior Jacy Bolton also registered her second career double-double with 12 points and a career-high tying 10 rebounds. Starters Alexsis Grate and Sarah Kaminski and reserve Camarie Gatling each chipped in 10 points. American, however, also had five players score in double figures as the Patriots surrendered their most points since Jan. 4, 2017. The Eagles, who reached the 2018 NCAA Tournament, shot 43 percent from the field and made 10 3-pointers.

CARDAÑO-HILLARY HONORED
Sophomore guard Nicole Cardaño-Hillary was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday. The native of Madrid, Spain, earned the honor for the first time in her career after she averaged 25.5 points in two wins last week. She was also named the College Sports Madness National High-Major Player of the Week. Cardaño-Hillary scored 26 points in the season opener against Loyola and then had 25 points at Air Force on Friday.  The 2018 A-10 Rookie of the Year also dished out six assists and three steals and made 10 of 14 free throws against Air Force.
