RICHMOND, Va. – The George Mason women's volleyball team opens the Atlantic 10 Championship with a quarterfinals matchup against Saint Louis at 2 p.m. on Friday. All tournament games will be played at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.
Mason makes its first appearance in the A-10 Championship in program history. The Patriots' program-best A-10 record of 8-6 secured the fourth seed in the tournament.

POSTSEASON AWARDS
Three Patriots received Atlantic 10 postseason awards, the conference announced on Thursday. Junior
Bailey Williams was named A-10 Second Team All-Conference while freshmen
Peyton Ehmke and
ShaLi Niu were selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team. The three A-10 postseason honors sets a program record for the Patriots.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Saint Louis finished the regular season with an overall record of 7-19 and conference record of 6-8. The Billikens won their final two A-10 matches to propel them to the A-10 Championship. Saint Louis earned the fifth seed in the tournament after winning the head-head tiebreaker over Duquesne.
Saint Louis makes its sixth-straight appearance in the A-10 Championship. The Billikens won the title in 2006 and 2008.
Earlier this season, Mason defeated Saint Louis in five sets on Sept. 22 in Fairfax, Va. Ehmke tallied a career-high 17 kills and nine blocks in the match. Mason's 21 blocks to SLU's six proved to be the deciding factor in the victory.
Senior Maya Taylor leads the Billikens with 4.04 kills per set – good for second in the A-10. Taylor was named A-10 First Team All-Conference and A-10 All-Academic Team. Freshmen Giovanna Charles was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team and is second on SLU with 2.53 kills per set.
