PATRIOT POINTS
• Mason is 0-2 to start the season, with the two games decided by a total of four points. The Patriots were 10-1 in games decided by 10 points or less last season, but have not been as successful in those tight contests in 2018-19.

• Sophomore Javon Greene led Mason with career highs in points (18) and rebounds (12) vs. American en route to his first ever double-double. He went 10-for-11 from the free throw line and is now 17-of-19 to start the year (.895). He leads Mason in both scoring (13.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.0 rpg) through two games.

• Senior Otis Livingston II set a new career high with 10 assists vs. American while also posting the first double-double of his 101-game career with a 10-point effort. With his first assist, he passed Marquise Moore and moved into 6th in Mason history in assists.

• Through two games, 67.1 percent of Mason's points have come from 2-point range (7th-most in nation). Just 14.4 percent are from 3-point range (309th nationally).

• Seven Patriots are averaging at least 7.5 points per game this season. Mason's bench has averaged 32.5 ppg through two contests.

ELITE POINT GUARD BATTLE HIGHLIGHTS TUESDAY'S SHOWDOWN
Seniors Otis Livingston II (Mason) and Tookie Brown (GSU) are two of the best point guards in the nation. Heading into 2018-19, they were two of just five players in the country to have at least 1400 career points, 350 assists and 250 rebounds. Livingston II is a preseason First Team All-A-10 selection, while Brown is preseason First Team All-Sun Belt.

HISTORY vs. GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Tuesday's game marks the third all-time meeting between Mason and Georgia Southern in men's basketball. The Eagles have won both matchups in the series, including a 74-51 victory last season on Dec. 12 in Fairfax. This season's game is the first in the series to be played in Statesboro. In last season's outing, GSU held the Patriots to just 28.6 percent shooting and a 4-for-23 night from beyond the arc (.174). Tookie Brown led GSU with a game-high 17 points in the 2017 affair, while then-freshman AJ Wilson paced Mason with a double-double (13 pts, 10 reb). Justin Kier added 12 points (5-13 FG) for the Green & Gold.

HISTORY vs. SUN BELT OPPONENTS
Mason is 3-4 (.429) all time against teams currently in the Sun Belt Conference. The Patriots are 3-1 against Coastal Carolina, 0-2 against Georgia Southern and 0-1 against Arkansas Little Rock. In the most recent matchup, Mason fell to Georgia Southern last season in Fairfax.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES (1-0, 0-0 Sun Belt; KenPom No. 150)
Georgia Southern was picked to finish second in the 2018-19 preseason poll. The Eagles put together an outstanding 21-12 campaign last season, including an 11-7 mark in Sun Belt play. Preseason First Team All-Sun Belt selection Tookie Brown will lead the Eagles this season. He posted 18.9 points and 4.3 assists per game in 2017-18. Second Team preseason All-Sun Belt selection Ike Smith added 12.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season and had 17 points (7-12 FG) in the team's season-opening 139-51 thrashing of Carver College. Quan Jackson led the Eagles with a game-high 25 points in the contest.
