SCOUTING DAVIDSON
The Wildcats (8-5-2, 4-1-1) have won four of seven, with two ties during that stretch. Their lone loss in the last month came against Fordham last Saturday in a 2-0 setback. They battled to a 2-2 double-overtime tie against No. 18 Virginia Tech in their most recent game on Tuesday in Davidson. Freshman Henry Howell leads the team with five goals and 13 points. Junior Jaylen Thompson has dished out a team-high four assists in addition to four goals. Freshman forward Lucas Hauth has also scored four goals.

SERIES HISTORY
The Patriots lead the all-time series 3-1-1 but lost the last meeting, in 2016, 1-0 in Fairfax. Mason last played at Davidson on Oct. 31, 2015, winning 1-0. The teams have had a competitive history – three of the four matchups since the Patriots joined the A-10 in 2013 have been decided by a goal and the other was a scoreless double-overtime tie.

A-10 TOURNEY IMPLICATIONS
With just two regular season games remaining, the Patriots are currently tied with Saint Louis for fifth place with nine points. Saint Joseph's and Duquesne are just a point behind in a tie for seventh and Dayton sits in ninth with seven points. Only the top eight teams qualify for the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Championship, which begins with the quarterfinals on campus sites on Nov. 4. The Patriots close the regular season against two of the top three teams in the conference – at Davidson (13 points) and at home against Rhode Island (12) on Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots suffered a 2-0 loss to conference leader VCU in Richmond last Saturday. Mason surrendered two first-half goals, including one in the final seven minutes of the period. The Patriots recorded nine of their 10 shots in the second half. But they couldn't sneak one past VCU goalkeeper Mario Sequeira, who made three saves as the Rams posted their ninth shutout (tied for third-most in the nation). Junior forward Tunde Akinlsotu led Mason with four shots, including two on goal.

NEXT UP
The Patriots close out the regular season at home against Rhode Island at 7 p.m. on Wednesday for a Halloween night matchup. Mason will honor its seven seniors – Jordan Edwards, Zion Gray, Clark Gronek, Graydon Hester, Tolu Ibikunle, Tomas Lapnas and Agnar Sverrisson – on Senior Night before the game.
