SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials (4-4-1) are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss in their Atlantic 10 opener at Davidson on Saturday. Davidson scored twice in the last six minutes to erase a two-goal deficit and then won the game in the 98th minute. Prior to that, George Washington had battled to an impressive scoreless draw at No. 15 Duke. Thor Arne Hofs made a career-high nine saves. The senior ranks second in the A-10 with 40 saves. Sophomore Oscar Haynes Brown leads the conference with nine goals and 20 points.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Mason leads the all-time series 25-14-3. The Colonials are the Patriots' third most-common opponent, behind only William & Mary (46 games) and American (44). GW has won the last three matchups, including a 1-0 triumph in overtime last year in Washington D.C.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Patriots suffered a 3-0 loss to Appalachian State at George Mason Stadium on Saturday night. Mason conceded two goals late in the first half and never recovered. The Patriots fired off 14 shots but only three were on goal.
