FAIRFAX, Va. – On Wednesday, the top three scorers in the Atlantic 10 Conference will share the same court.

The George Mason women's basketball team hosts Richmond at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at EagleBank Arena. The Patriots (14-4, 3-1 Atlantic 10) will welcome area students for Elementary Education Day.

The matchup features the top three scorers in the conference – George Mason teammates Nicole Cardano-Hillary (18.4 ppg) and Natalie Butler (18.2) and Richmond junior Micaela Parson (17.8).

Cardano-Hillary was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after scoring 22 points and setting career highs with seven assists and seven steals in a win over Rhode Island on Sunday. The freshman point guard has scored more than 20 points in eight games and scored in double figures in all 18 games of her career. She also leads the conference in steals (50).

Butler, a 6-foot-5 center, leads the country in rebounding (15.2 rpg). The graduate student is also tied for the most double-doubles (17) and is just the eighth player in Division I history with at least 17 consecutive games with a double-double. She has also scored in double figures all 18 games.

Parson, a senior guard from North Chesterfield, Va., has scored more than 20 points in seven games this season. She averaged 20.5 points in her first four A-10 games but scored a season-low 10 in a 68-65 loss to Davidson on Sunday. She also leads Richmond with 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals.

The Spiders (7-11, 2-3) have lost three of four but are 5-2 on the road this season. Richmond leads the all-time series 35-23. The Spiders have won 10 of 11 against the Patriots and split the season series last year, with the road team winning each game.

The Patriots are coming off a 92-53 blowout victory at Rhode Island on Sunday. Four players scored in double figures led by Cardano-Hillary's 22 points. Butler also had 15 points and 16 rebounds. Freshman Marika Korpinen added a career-high 11 points off the bench and Sarah Kaminski chipped in 10 points. Ten Patriots scored and all 13 available players logged minutes. Mason shot 47.2 percent from the field, made nine 3-pointers, dished out 19 assists and grabbed 17 steals – their most since the 2005-06 season.

At 3-1, Mason has matched its best start in A-10 play since joining the league in 2013-14. With 14 wins, the Patriots have eclipsed last year's win total of 13 and have logged their most victories since the 2011-12 season.
