FAIRFAX, Va. –
Nicole Cardaño-Hillary's freshman season has been anything but under the radar.
On Monday, the George Mason point guard was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. The Madrid, Spain, native, scored 22 points and set career highs with seven assists and seven steals in a 92-53 victory at Rhode Island on Sunday.
CardaÑo-Hillary, who leads the Atlantic 10 in scoring (18.4 ppg), made 9-of-18 shots and sunk four 3-pointers. Her seven steals were the second-most in a single game in program history and just one shy of the school record. She also grabbed five rebounds, which tied a career-high.
In addition to leading the conference in scoring, she is also atop the league in steals (50). She has scored more than 20 points in eight games and has scored in double figures in all 18 games.
CardaÑo-Hillary and the Patriots (14-4, 3-1 A-10) are back in action at 11 a.m. on Wednesday against Richmond for Elementary Education Day at EagleBank Arena.
