FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's soccer team surrendered three goals in the second half, falling 4-0 to No. 18 Wake Forest on Friday at George Mason Stadium.
Mason (0-4-0) and Wake Forest (5-0-0) were scoreless until the 41st minute of play, when senior Ally Haran scored on a header from six yards out to give the Demon Deacons a 1-0 advantage.
"At halftime we were pretty pleased with how the first half had unfolded," Mason head coach
Todd Bramble said. "I thought we had a good game plan in place and we minimized the chances that they had. The goal they got two minutes in after the break was really deflating."
Wake Forest increased the lead early in the second half when freshman Hulda Arnarsdottir found the back of the net on a rebound chance to make the score 2-0. The Demon Deacons would add goals in the 70th and 78
th minute for the 4-0 final.
"We saw some players make their debuts for us tonight," Bramble said. "
Amanda Nhek came into the game and did a nice job and
Alexis Weeren came in and played some significant minutes. This game will help us in the long run."
The Demon Deacons finished with an 11-1 advantage in shots, including 8-1 in shots on goal. Mason freshman
Kayla Hamric recorded the Patriots lone shot on goal in the match. Wake Forest also finished the game with a 5-1 advantage in corners.

Louisa Moser made her NCAA debut, finishing with four saves.
The Patriots face Maryland on Sunday with the kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
