WASHINGTON, D.C. – The George Mason women's soccer team fell to Howard 1-0 on Sunday at Greene Stadium in Washington, D.C.
Mason (0-3-0) surrendered the eventual game-winning goal late in the second half. Bison (1-3-0) senior Whitney White scored from 10 yards out in the 85th minute of play with Howard's lone shot on goal of the game. The Patriots fell to the Bison for the first time in program history.
The Patriots had chances throughout the match. Junior
Nia Elbeck hit the post with a header in the 18th minute of play from five yards out, while senior
Daniela Neves hit the post in the second half in the 57th minute of play.

Rebecca Callison nearly put the Patriots in front in the 66th minute, sending a shot on goal from 35 yards, but the rebound was cleared off the goal line by Howard defenders.
The Patriots finished with a 20-3 advantage in shots, including 6-1 in shots on goal. Mason recorded 10 shots in each half. Senior

The Patriots begin a three-game homestand on Friday, hosting Wake Forest with the kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
