FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University men's basketball alumni Mike Morrison and Ryan Pearson will suit up in The Basketball Tournament this summer for a chance at a multimillion dollar paycheck.

The annual 5-on-5, single-elimination tournament features 64 teams, all playing for the winner-take-all grand prize of $2 million.

Morrison is part of the No. 3 seed in the West Region – "The Stickmen" – while Pearson and "Team Fancy" are the No. 7 seed in the Northeast.

Pearson's team will face the Northeast's No. 10 seed – the Rebel Riders – on July 8 at 9:30 p.m. The contest in Philadelphia will be streamed live on WatchESPN.

Morrison and the Stickmen kick things off against West No. 14 seed Air Force Bomb Squad on July 15 at 9:15 p.m. PT/12:15 a.m. ET. That game in Las Vegas also will be streamed on WatchESPN.

Morrison and Pearson, along with Andre Cornelius, made up one of the most successful classes in the history of George Mason University basketball. The duo starred for the Green & Gold from 2008-12, leading the Patriots to four postseason appearances. In 2010-11, Morrison and Pearson led the Patriots to the NCAA Round of 32, highlighted by a 61-57 victory over Villanova in the first round.

Morrison, a dominant interior player during his career, is t-2nd all time at Mason in blocked shots (174), sixth in career field goal percentage (.567) and 16th in rebounds (658).

One of the most prolific scorers in Patriot history, Pearson ranks fifth all time in career points (1,626), fifth in free throws made (420) and eighth in career rebounds (806).

Pearson currently stars for Le Mans Sarthe Basket of the French Basketball League while Morrison is a key contributor for the Frankfurt Skyliners in Basketball Bundesliga.
