2017 Schedule

FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason University women's volleyball head coach Aylene Ilkson has announced the program's 2017 schedule, which includes a non-conference tournament at the University of Georgia and home contests against local rivals VCU and George Washington.
 
Mason also will host a pair of non-conference tournaments while bringing a number of solid clubs to Fairfax ahead of the A-10 schedule.
 
"I'm excited about the coming season and the competitive matches that fill the schedule," Ilkson said. "I think the trip to Georgia will certainly prepare us for a tough A-10 schedule and we will welcome some excellent programs to the RAC during non-conference play."
 
Mason's schedule will begin in one of the nation's best college towns when the Patriots head south to Athens, Georgia, in late August. The Green & Gold open the Benson Hospitality Invitational on August 25 vs. UNC Asheville (1:30 p.m.) before doing battle with the host Georgia Bulldogs later that evening (7 p.m.).
 
The Patriots then play Presbyterian (11:30 a.m.) and Long Island (4 p.m.) on August 26 on the final day of the event.
 
Mason hosts its first tournament over Labor Day weekend, which features contests against Campbell (Sept. 1), Houston (Sept. 2) and Central Michigan (Sept. 2).
 
After a trip to the greater Baltimore area that includes contests against Eastern Michigan, Lafayette and host Towson (Sept. 8, Sept. 10), the Patriots return home for their second non-conference tournament.
 
In that event (Sept. 15-16), the Green & Gold will play host to Charlotte, Hampton and Loyola (Md.).
 
The A-10 portion of the schedule begins on the road, with consecutive away contests at Duquesne (Sept. 23), La Salle (Sept. 24), Fordham (Sept. 29) and Rhode Island (Oct. 1).
 
Mason then returns to Fairfax for a trio of home matches against George Washington (Oct. 6), Davidson (Oct. 13) and VCU (Oct. 14).
 
After a Midwest jaunt through Dayton (Oct. 20) and Saint Louis (Oct. 22), the Patriots take on Keystone State foes La Salle (Oct. 27) and Duquesne (Oct. 28) in Fairfax.
 
The conference slate concludes with a cross-Potomac road contest against George Washington (Nov. 3) and home matches against Saint Louis (Nov. 10) and Dayton (Nov. 11).
 
Saint Louis will host the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship Nov. 17-19.
