FAIRFAX, Va. – In addition to team and individual success on the mat this season, the George Mason wrestling team had 12 student-athletes earn a spot on the 2016-17 Eastern Wrestling League All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, students had to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall of 2016 semester.
"Excellence in the classroom is something we strive for within the George Mason University Wrestling program," Mason head coach
Joe Russell said. "I am pleased these student-athletes are leading the way for their teammates. Their diligence in their studies will serve them well long after their wrestling careers have ended. I applaud the effort of our 2017 EWL All-Academic honorees."
