DAVIDSON, N.C. – The George Mason University women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 contest at Davidson on Sunday afternoon.
Coming off a 4-0 week at the PTR Springfest in Hilton Head, S.C., the Patriots ran into a red hot Wildcats team that played well at home.
Davidson improved to 11-3 and 4-1 in Atlantic 10 play, while the Patriots fell to 8-5 (0-2 A-10).
"We played tough today," head coach Steven Curtis said. "Davidson played a little better on the big points. I'm very proud of how we competed after a long week in Hilton Head."
Mason played competitive doubles matches at both the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, where the tandems of

Nicole Haigwood took four games in 6-4 decisions.
In singles play, Davidson took points in straight sets at No. 6 and No. 4 singles. The Wildcats clinched the match with a victory at No. 2.
At No. 3 singles,
Scarlett Walston won her first set, 6-3, but did not get to complete her match after the contest was clinched.
The Patriots return to action Friday at 3 p.m. with a home contest vs. A-10 foe Duquesne.
