ANNAPOLIS, Md. - On Saturday the George Mason University women's tennis team traveled to Annapolis to take on Navy. Mason fell 0-7.
"We had our chances today in the doubles," head coach Steve Curtis said. "It came down to a few points in each of the matches. We had momentum at times but couldn't manage to hold on."
In the singles match-ups Mason lost in straight sets at each position except for No. 2.
Morgan Yang and Josie Rogers split the first two sets. In the third set tie-breaker Yang fell 6-10.
"Tennis is an individual sport and some of our young players still have to buy into the team concept," added Curtis. "Once we learn to play and act like a team we will win many more of our big point opportunities. It will come."
Mason moves to 3-2 on the season.
The Patriots are back on court on February 11th when they travel to Elkton, MD to take on Delaware at 6 p.m.
