FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason University men's basketball team (18-9, 8-6) begins a two-game road swing Tuesday with a contest at Dayton (21-5, 12-2).

Tip-off between the Patriots and Flyers inside UD Arena is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday's game will be televised on Spectrum Sports in Ohio and will be streamed nationally on Facebook Live. Dwight Burgess and Tony White will provide commentary. In addition, Bill Rohland will broadcast the game on the A-10 Digital Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.

* Mason is tied with Saint Bonaventure & La Salle for fifth place in the Atlantic 10 standings.

* Mason has set a new program record for A-10 wins (8) with four league games remaining (previous record was 5). The Patriots also have eclipsed their win total from the 2015-16 season (11) by a significant margin. Mason is one of the nation's top-8 most improved teams in comparison to last season's results.

* The Patriots are 17-6 in their last 23 contests.

* Mason is 9-3 combined in road and neutral site contests this season and 9-6 in games played inside EagleBank Arena.

* Last time out, the Patriots erased an 18-point second half deficit, but ultimately fell to Rhode Island 77-74 on Saturday.

* Redshirt-senior Jalen Jenkins posted career highs in free throws made (14) and attempted (17) while finishing with a game-high 22 points.

* Senior Marquise Moore posted his fourth-straight double-double (17th overall) with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

* The 6-foot-2-inch Moore is the top rebounding guard in the nation (10.5 rpg), is third in the country among all players in defensive rebounds/game (8.7), 13th in overall rebounding and is one of only nine players nationally (and the only guard) with 17+ double-doubles.

* Since double-doubles have been kept by the NCAA (2009-10), the record for a guard is 20 (Andre Roberson - Colorado). Moore's 17 are the most by a player 6-2 and under (next closest is 11).

* Mason is shooting 86.2 percent (119-138) from the free throw line over the past five games. The Patriots are averaging an astounding 30.0 made free throws over the past two contests. Mason is 49th nationally in free throw percentage (.744) and gets 23.7 percent of its points from the line (17th nationally).

HISTORY vs. DAYTON
Tuesday's game marks the eighth all-time meeting between George Mason and Dayton in men's basketball. The programs played a four year home-and-home series from 2007-2010, before the Patriots joined the A-10 in 2013-14. Dayton is 3-0 in league contests vs. Mason. Last season, the 24th-ranked Flyers won in Fairfax on Feb. 6. Jaire Grayer scored 11 points and went 5-of-9 from the field in last season's meeting.

A LOOK AT THE FLYERS (21-5, 12-2 A-10)
Dayton was picked first in the 2016-17 A-10 preseason poll. The Flyers put together a 9-3 non-conference mark - including wins over Alabama, New Mexico and Vanderbilt - and have won 12 of their first 14 league games. UD is 13-1 at home in 2016-17. The Flyers lead the A-10 in scoring defense (64.5 ppg) and opponent field goal percentage (.405) and are also first in 3-point field goal percentage (.381). Dayton is led by  preseason All-A-10 first team pick Charles Cooke, who averages 16.4 points and shoots 41.2 percent from 3-point range. Kendall Pollard adds 13.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest, while Scoochie Smith chips in 13.2 points and a team-high 4.3 assists.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Patriots are one of the few NCAA Div. I programs that may arguably perform better on the road than at home. Mason enjoys better 3-point and free throw percentages in away contests and gives up two less points per game. The Patriots also sport a spiffy 7-2 road record, compared to a 9-6 mark at home.

UP NEXT
Mason renews the Revolutionary Rivalry with George Washington on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Foggy Bottom. The game will air on Facebook Live.
