FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team looks to sweep an in-state rival and build a winning streak in the process.
The Patriots host Richmond at 2 p.m. on Sunday at EagleBank Arena for their Pink Game and Alumni Game. Mason will wear pink uniforms in support of the Play4Kay initiative, which raises awareness and funds for breast cancer awareness. The program will also honor alumni back in attendance for Sunday's game.
Mason (12-13, 5-7 Atlantic 10) defeated Richmond 54-50 three weeks ago on the road to snap a nine-game losing streak in the series dating back to 1999. Now, the Patriots are looking for their first win at home against the Spiders since Jan. 31, 1999.
The Patriots are aiming for their second straight win after edging Davidson 59-55 at home on Wednesday night. Senior

Richmond (11-14, 5-7 A-10) is coming off a 55-39 loss at Dayton and has dropped five of seven. Senior guard Janelle Hubbard leads the team with 14 points a game. Richmond and Mason are currently tied for ninth in the A-10 standings with four regular-season games left.
The matchup could be critical for seeding of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. The No. 3 through No. 8 seeds will host a first-round game on campus the weekend of Feb. 25-26 before the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship game move to the Richmond Coliseum on March 3-5.
