Kier Washington Post Feature

FAIRFAX, Va. - George Mason University men's basketball sophomore Justin Kier is featured in a Dec. 28 article on WashingtonPost.com. The story will be included in Friday's Washington Post print edition (Dec. 29). 

The story centers on Kier's journey from his childhood in Harrisonburg, Va., to his college basketball career at George Mason. Kier's grandmother, Evelyn, raised Justin in Grottoes, Va., after his mother suffered a medical episode that has left her paralyzed, blind and unable to speak. The feature chronicles Justin's relationship with his mother, grandmother, family and the Grottoes community, as the group has played an instrumental role in raising the first Div. I basketball student-athlete in the greater Harrisonburg area in 25 years.
