OLEAN, N.Y. – An early first-half goal proved to be enough for St. Bonaventure.

The George Mason men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss on the road Saturday night at Marra Athletics Complex. The Patriots surrendered a goal in the 36 th minute to the Bonnies for their fifth straight loss.

Mason (5-7-2, 0-5-1 Atlantic 10) was shut out for the second consecutive game. Each team managed just seven shots but the Patriots could only put two on goal – both saved by St. Bonaventure goalkeeper Luke Iacobellis.

St. Bonaventure (6-8-2, 2-4) scored what turned out to be the game-winner with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half. The Bonnies connected a pair of passes, the second getting to Isaiah Wilson, who buried a shot into the back of the net.

"We weren't able to finish some quality chances early and that was the difference," Mason head coach Greg Andrulis said. "A deflected ball led to their goal late in the half and we chased the game the rest of the way. The effort was there; just unable to find the goal that could have changed things."

Mason returns home to host Massachusetts at 7 p.m. next Saturday for Senior Day at George Mason Stadium in the final home game of the season.
