Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team will hold several events in conjunction with games in February.

The Patriots will hold a Lacing Up 4 Pediatric Cancer game on Feb. 8 when they host Davidson at EagleBank Arena. They will then take part in the Play4Kay Pink Game to raise awareness for breast cancer research when they host Richmond on Feb. 12 at EagleBank. That game will also serve as the Patriots' annual Alumni Game, inviting back George Mason women's basketball alums.

The Lacing Up 4 Pediatric Cancer game will support the Go4theGoal Foundation in helping children battle cancer. Go4theGoal works to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial assistance, granting special wishes, developing unique hospital programs, and funding innovative research. Since 2011, professional, college and youth teams have participated in raising funds and awareness for the No. 1 disease killer of children. To date, over 250,000 athletes have laced up to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer. To donate, click here.

The Play4Kay initiative supports the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, which is a charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers by raising funds for scientific research, assisting the underserved, and unifying people for a common cause. To date, the Fund has allocated more than $5 million in support of women's cancer research.

Last year, the Patriots partnered with cancer survivors through the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The cancer survivors joined the team for shootaround, pregame meal and stuck around for Mason's win over Saint Joseph's.
