FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team hits the road in hopes of building a winning streak.

The Patriots begin a two-game road swing against Davidson at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Belk Arena in Davidson, N.C. The teams have met just twice before, splitting the all-time series at 1-1. The Wildcats won the most recent matchup 68-63 last year on Feb. 3, 2016 at Davidson.

Mason (10-9, 3-3 Atlantic 10) is coming off a 70-59 victory at home Sunday over VCU, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Freshman Jacy Bolton recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds and senior Kara Wright added 14 points and nine rebounds.

In six conference games, Wright is averaging 18.2 points – tied for third-most in the A-10 – 8.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists. The Louisville, Ky., native is averaging 17.4 points in her last five games, including two games of at least 20 points.

As a team, the Patriots have registered the best field percentage defense of any A-10 team in conference games. Through six league contests, opponents are shooting just 35.6 percent – the lowest mark in the A-10. Mason has held conference foes to less than 60 points four times.

Davidson (2-15, 0-5), meanwhile, struggles to keep teams from scoring. The Wildcats rank last in the conference in points allowed with 72.4 per game. Davidson, which has lost seven straight, is led by junior Mackenzie Latt (16.0 ppg, 8.4 rpg).
