FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason will be part of a record-setting season for Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball.

The Patriots will be featured on national television nine times this season during conference play, with games on CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network and American Sports Network (ASN). In total, the Atlantic 10 schedule boasts a league-record number of television appearances (208), total games (108) and conference games (87).

Mason will open A-10 play in front of a nationally televised audience on CBS Sports Network against in-state rival and defending co-conference champ VCU at 8 p.m. on Dec. 30 at EagleBank Arena. They Patriots will also play home games on national TV against Saint Louis (Jan. 14, NBCSN), NIT champ George Washington (Jan. 25, ASN), Fordham (Feb. 11, ASN) and Rhode Island (Feb. 18, NBCSN).

On the road, their matchups at co-regular season champ St. Bonaventure (Jan. 7, NBCSN), conference tournament champ Saint Joseph's (Jan. 10, ASN), Richmond (Jan. 22, ASN) and Davidson (Feb. 8, ASN). George Mason will release its local TV schedule at a later date.

Every Atlantic 10 institution will make at least eight appearances on national television throughout the league's four media partners: ESPN, CBS Sports Network, NBCSN and ASN. This also marks the first time in A-10 history that over two-thirds of conference games (87 of 126) will air on national television. In addition to the conference games, there will be eight televised non-conference games as part of the A-10 package.

“Once again, in conjunction with our four media partners, we have a television schedule that provides numerous opportunities for our fans and alumni to follow Atlantic 10 men's basketball throughout the 2016-17 season,” stated A-10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. “This schedule showcases the outstanding basketball programs in our league, but it also is one of the best vehicles to brand and share the success stories from our 14 institutions.”

All 13 games of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh will be nationally televised. ASN will air the opening round games on March 8. NBCSN will carry the second round and the quarterfinals, March 9-10. CBS Sports Network will air the semifinal games on March 11. CBS Sports will broadcast the final on network television for the eighth straight year as part of the network's annual Selection Sunday coverage.

ESPN and the A-10 have partnered for seven Friday primetime games during conference play that will be branded “A-10 Friday Night Showcase.” Six will air on ESPN2 and one on ESPNU. These games, which begin with the opening of conference play on Dec. 30, will air from six different Atlantic 10 campuses through Feb. 24. In total, there will be 15 regular season games on the ESPN family of networks, with 11 of those as conference matchups. ESPN will televise the Rhode Island at Saint Louis conference opener on Dec. 30, which will be the first A-10 game for new Billiken coach Travis Ford. All A-10 games on the ESPN family of networks will also be streamed via the WatchESPN app.

CBS Sports Network will carry 27 games, including 24 conference contests, one non-conference game and the two championship semifinals. For the third straight year, CBS Sports Network will also produce four A-10 dedicated episodes of its popular college basketball show, Inside College Basketball, branded A-10 Tip-Off, which will air prior to selected conference games. Additionally, the 2016 championship final rematch between Saint Joseph's and VCU will be carried by CBS Sports Network on Feb. 14.

NBCSN's A-10 schedule will feature 33 games, all of which are conference matchups or postseason games. There are 25 regular season conference games, plus the Atlantic 10 Championship Second Round and Quarterfinals (eight games). Every NBCSN Atlantic 10 broadcast will be a double, triple or quadruple-header. The network opens its Atlantic 10 slate with a tripleheader on Jan. 7 featuring Massachusetts at VCU at 1:00 pm, Saint Joseph's at Fordham at 3:00 pm and George Mason at St. Bonaventure at 5:00 pm. All A-10 games on NBCSN will also be streamed via the NBC Sports Live Extra mobile app.

ASN will air 32 games, including 27 conference games, three non-conference contests and the two first round games of the A-10 Championship in Pittsburgh.  The ASN package will feature key matchups, including a rematch of the 2016 A-10 semifinals between Saint Joseph's and Dayton on Feb. 7 at 8:00 pm. A-10 games on ASN are regularly available to up to 60 million households nationwide via their 24/7 dedicated sports channel, dozens of Sinclair Broadcasting-owned stations, a national affiliate network of regional sports networks and via their digital platform.

This marks the fourth year of the long-term television agreement between the A-10 and ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBCSN. It's also the second year of an expanded partnership with ASN. Atlantic 10 institutions reside in states that comprise 33.3 million television households, approximately 30 percent of the total national media market. There are nine A-10 institutions in or adjacent to the top 25 media markets in the country.
