FAIRFAX, Va. – Head coach Jackie Simpson-Kirr and the George Mason women's volleyball team will hold a coaches clinic Sunday, Aug. 21 during the Patriots' fall preseason open practice at the Recreation and Athletic Complex.

The clinic will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and will include a one-hour classroom session and four hours of on-the-court drill segments.  The classroom segment will focus on practice planning.

The clinic will provide detailed play sets that will help teams create scoring opportunities against different blocking schemes and also highlight how to apply defensive pressure, starting with individual skills and building to team defense.

On the court sessions will consist of 20 ball control segments that helped Simpson-Kirr and the Patriots produce the program's most successful season since joining the Atlantic 10 Conference.  Learn how to utilize gym space to develop drill tempo and maximize your practice time with a variety of competitive 4v4 and 6v6 drills in the full court and half court.

There are single and staff pricing options for the clinic.  The cost is $125 for a single coach, $175 for a staff of two, $225 for a staff of three and $250 for a coaching staff of four.  Coffee and snacks will be provided and space is limited.  All proceeds from the clinic go directly to the George Mason women's volleyball program.  To register click here or for additional information contact Taylor Unroe at tunroe@gmu.edu.
