Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll
FAIRFAX, Va. – George Mason's top scorer last year and three newcomers have earned preseason recognition from the Atlantic 10 Conference.
On Wednesday, the Atlantic 10 announced its preseason men's soccer all-conference teams, which are voted on by the league's 13 coaches. Junior Henning Dirks was named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Team, while freshmen Tunde Akinlosotu, Raheem Lawal and Grant Robinson were tabbed to the All-Rookie Team.

Akinlosotu was named a SIMA High School All-American after recording 18 goals and 15 assists as a senior last year at McDonogh School. The forward from Bowie, Md., was a two-time all-state selection and earned MVP honors at the All-American game last December. On the club level, he helped the Baltimore Celtic to the national championship in 2014 and a runner-up finish in 2015. He was named to the 2015 USYSA National Championship Best XI Team and was a two-time honoree on the USYSA Regional Championship Best XI.
Lawal, a forward from nearby Falls Church, Va., scored 61 goals during his career at George Mason High School. He earned First Team All-District, All-State and All-Region recognition and was a member of the D.C. United U18 USSF Academy Team. He attended the U.S. Training Center and is a three-time Generation Adidas Cup attendee.
Robinson, a midfielder from Columbia, Md., also played club ball for D.C. United Academy. He won two straight UYSA national championships in 2014 and 2015. Earlier this year, he was called up to the U.S. U19 Men's National Team for the Copa de Atlántico tournament in Canary Islands, Spain. He has also trained with the D.C. United MLS First Team.
The Patriots open their season at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at American in Washington, D.C. Mason was picked to finish seventh in the A-10 preseason coaches poll. The Patriots return 20 lettermen and nine starters from a 2015 team that went 7-7-3 overall and 3-2-3 in the A-10 to tie for eighth.
