FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason women's basketball team has added a pair of Division I transfers to bolster the roster for the future.
Head coach Nyla Milleson announced on Wednesday the addition of Camden Musgrave (Central Connecticut State) and Taylor Byrne (Seton Hall). In compliance with NCAA transfer rules, both players will sit out the upcoming season and will be eligible to play for the Patriots starting with the 2017-18 campaign.
“We are thrilled to welcome Camden and Taylor to our George Mason family,” Milleson said. “Both Cam and Taylor bring the ability to score the ball, the versatility to play multiple positions and the toughness and leadership skills to make an impact on and off the court as soon as they step foot on campus. These two young women are proven winners and will be great additions to our team as we strive for an Atlantic 10 championship.”
Musgrave will have two years of eligibility remaining after spending the last two as a standout at Central Connecticut State. The native of Bowie, Md., is a two-time All-Northeast Conference selection. The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 9.9 points in the previous two seasons, earning All-Northeast Conference Third Team honors this past season after being named to the league's All-Rookie Team in 2014-15.
During the 2015-16 season, she led the Blue Devils with 10.7 points as she made 25 starts. She also chipped 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 33.1 percent from 3-point range. As a freshman in 2014-15, she played in all 32 games for the Blue Devils. She was second on the team with 9.3 points a game, shooting 40.6 percent from the field, as Central Connecticut won the Northeast Conference regular-season championship and advanced to the WNIT.

She helped the Pirates compile an impressive 23-9 record and reach the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne. She has three years of eligibility remaining.
