George Mason men's basketball head coach Dave Paulsen announced today Ted Rawlings has joined the Patriots staff as Director of Basketball Operations. Rawlings comes to Fairfax after spending the 2014-15 season in the same position at Brown University.

“We're very excited to welcome Ted to our Mason Family,” commented Paulsen. “Ted has been on my radar for a number of years. He comes highly recommended by my good friend Mike Martin, and everyone who has interacted with Ted raves about him. He combines the organizational skills and attention to detail needed for this position with an engaging personality that is even more important.”

In serving as the Coordinator of Men's Basketball Operations at Brown, Rawlings was responsible for planning all aspects of team travel as well as assisting in the daily logistics of practice, facility scheduling, film exchange and camp sessions.

Prior to his arrival at Brown, Rawlings served as a men's basketball assistant coach for two seasons at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia under head coach David Pauley. He assisted in leading the Devils to their best mark since 2004, posting a 13-13 record and finished third in the CACC South. Rawlings started his coaching career serving as an assistant coach with Haverford College's men's basketball team during the 2011-12 season.

Rawlings was also the Director of Lacrosse Operations at the University of Pennsylvania for the men's and women's lacrosse programs from 2011-14. He was instrumental in the success of the Quakers during his tenure as the men's lacrosse team sealed a 2014 Ivy League Tournament Championship, while the women's program collected three Ivy League Championships and two tournament championships in three seasons.

Rawlings is a 2011 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English, where he was a goalie for the lacrosse team and a two-year starter and All-CSFL defensive back for sprint football. He also volunteered as a student manager for the men's basketball team and assisted the Director of Basketball Operations all four seasons. As an undergraduate, Rawlings provided radio broadcasting for the Penn women's basketball team on the Penn Sports Network and was a sideline reporter for 88.5 WXPN in 2010-11.

Rawlings received a Master's of Science in Sport Management from Drexel University in 2013.
