FAIRFAX, Va. – After leading the team in goals as a freshman,
Tunde Akinlosotu has been recognized as one of the Atlantic 10 Conference's top newcomers.
On Wednesday, the George Mason forward was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team in a vote by the league's coaches. Akinlosotu, a freshman from Bowie, Md., led the Patriots with three goals this past season.
Akinlosotu scored his first career goal in a loss to East Tennessee State on Aug. 31. He then scored his first career game-winner in a 1-0 victory over High Point on Sept. 21 to earn A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week honors. He also scored in Mason's 2-2 tie at Duquesne on Oct. 19.
He played in a total of 14 games and made seven starts. He was second on the team in both shots (15) and shots on goal (eight).
