Martin registered 54 kills on the weekend with a hitting percentage of just under 35 percent. After splitting decisions on day one of the tournament, the Patriots took their second 3-1 win over the Bison in as many weeks at the University of Maryland Sunday. Mason wrapped up the weekend with a 3-0 loss to the Terps Sunday night.
COACH'S CORNER
"Morghan
was a rockstar for us today," head coach Jackie Simpson said. "She was jumping higher and hitting harder than we have seen yet. I'm excited to see her continue to progress this season. As a team, we started out the day strong against Howard. "Our whole team was aggressive from the service line, which allowed our defense and blockers to execute seamlessly. We had great performances from Jordan Glass on the outside and Mara Barkley in the middle. We ran out of steam a bit against Maryland, but overall this was a great tournament with so many great moments to learn and grow."
